Quarter Peals
Many more quarter peals are rung than full peals as they take a quarter of the time, about 45 minutes.  They last long enough to stretch your concentration and are also a good test of a ringer’s mental stamina.   Unlike the page of Peals rung in Swanage it is not possible to provide an accurate record of all quarter peals rung partly due to the higher volume and also because records of successful quarter peals are not kept as accurately.

Details of quarter peals rung in 2011, 2010, 2009, 2008, 2007, 2006 , 2005.

So if you heard the bells ringing for about 45 minutes before Evensong on a recent Sunday and are wondering which method was being rung and if it was for a particular reason, details of recent quarter peals will be listed on this page.
