Visiting Us
Bellringing visitors are more than welcome to attend practice nights at Swanage or Sunday service ringing (check the Ringing Times to find out when we ring).
Non-bellringing visitors are also very welcome to come and see how we ring the bells, and have a go at bellringing as well!
If you are organising an outing and wish to bring your band to Swanage, a popular way of doing this is to ring at Corfe Castle and then travel by steam train to Swanage.

If you would like to confirm arrangements before visiting, please feel free to contact the Tower Correspondent a couple of days in advance.

Finding Us

St Mary’s is in the centre of Swanage opposite the railway station and fire station. OS Grid Reference : SZ027787

There is parking in the churchyard for visiting bellringers, though due to the one-way system around town it is often easier to park on the road outside the church or in one of the car parks in town (about a 10 minute walk).

There are public toilets nearby - about a 5 minute walk.

Access to the Tower

To the right of the main church entrance (west door) there is an outside staircase which leads to an outside door to the tower and then upwards to the ringing room (50 steps approx in total).
